Can a company get in trouble for not charging taxes?

I order reptile supplies from a place online. Everytime i order supplies from them, they dont.charge taxes. Any time i order from other places it says "Florida taxes: $x.xx" or so. This place doesnt charge me taxes. can they get in serious trouble for this?

NO not when they are NOT required to collect the sales and use tax on the items that you are purchasing from them BUT states that do have a sales and use tax in the area that you might live in will expect you to report your online purchases and the sales and use tax to your taxing authority and some states do have a line on the state income tax return where you are supposed to report the amounts of these purchases and include the sales tax amount that would due with your correctly completed state income tax return during the tax filing season for that year.

No business has to charge their customer taxes. Sometimes it is better to have already figured the tax in the sale, sometimes the store may charge enough to cover the tax, some states do not have a sales tax or maybe don't have a sales tax on "out-of-state" sales

No. The law says they must pay the taxes. If this is a different state than yours they do not have to collect.
