2007 Mercury Grand Marquis not starting?

2007 Mercury Grand Marquis. Battery good, has been tested. Without warning, the car will act as if the battery is dead, clicking on start up. Requires a strong jump, doesn't fire right up. Once running, will start the next try. ABS and seatbelt lights have flashed or stayed on during these periods. Dash did not work once. has occured 3 times, required jumping twice. Both times jump was required, the car ran fine just before and after the problem occurred. Have cleaned battery terminals, no corrosion.

Battery is less than a year old. I've had plenty of dead cells and know what that is like. I do not have the readings but Sears did a full test on the battery. This is something else in the electrical system. I am hoping Its just a short or wires or connections. I have warranty on practically everything but the powertrain control module. I am taking it in Monday and just needed some suggestions on the cause. please stop answering battery. if you know of something other than the battery that is a possible cause, I would appreciate your answer. thanks.

I have news for you. If the battery tested OK what were the results of the load, voltage, and cell hydrometer tests? 2012 minus 2007 is five. Your five year old Ford OEM battery can't cut the mustard any more.

Here is a simple volt meter start test: Hook a volt meter set @ 20 volts on the battery terminals. Have someone start the car. If the volt meter drops back to zero your battery needs to be replaced.

I have a 2002 Grand Marquis and it is one outstanding vehicle and i am very sad to look a real American vehicle misplaced. The Crown Vic and Grand Marquis platform has particularly been round on account that 1932 when Ford presented the first V8 flathead. The exact name of the platform was the Victoria body which is used for all full sized Fords. My 1962 Galaxie is referred to as the Victoria physique. My 2002 Marquis has seventy eight,000 and simplest had average oil alterations and runs and looks like company new. When you take auto of the 2004 it is going to final a long time and don't worry about elements there are so many on the street components are ample. I possess three old Galaxies 1960,62 and 64 which I like to drive given that i do not seem like each person else on the road. My 2002 Marquis has center console, flooring shift, bucket seats just like the Marauder and used to be handiest constructed for a few months in 2002 earlier than the 2003 Marauder. It also has dual exhaust and cargo leveler suspension. Very underrated over seemed vehicle and a blast to drive.

Sometimes your battery can test good but have a dead cell. I would see if you could borrow someones battery to see if it will start. If so replace your battery and have your alternator tested. You can get that done at any parts house. Also check the battery terminals, make sure they are clean, tight and have a good connection with no corrosion. If you have corrosion use a can of coke to clean the corrosion. Check all of that and if it still isn't working, you could possibly have a wiring issue.

Check your cables, and then your starter, and while its running if you can get it too have somebody test your alternator output. Use a multimeter or take it to a local auto part store and they will do it for free.
