I'm quite doubting I have Italian ancestry. Then my grandmother mentioned this part of the family came from Philipined. And I've noticed quite a few Filipinos with the same last name as I, and less people from my own country.

Have you researched your tree at all? There are a lot of Aquinos in the Philippines and the name is fairly common in the US, as well. Aquino immigrants in the 1930 census came from Italy, the Philippines and various Spanish speaking countries.
Aquino Name Meaning Spanish, Portuguese, and Italian: from a personal name bestowed in honor of the great theologian St. Thomas Aquinas (Tommaso d’Aquino in Italian).Italian: habitational name from a place called Aquino (see D'aquino). I don't know but I'm guessing filipinos probably got the surname Aquino from some missionary that was in the philippines, it doesn't mean you have any latin blood in you. It's like people turning christian and changing their name to a christian name. Or maybe they didn't have last names and they took on Aquino as their last name. You would have to look up history to know.
