I'm looking for a new laptop both to play video-games like Skyrim, and to use HD video editing software like Sony Vegas.
I'm not particularly bothered about battery-life/weight/appearance.
Open to any other suggestions too! (Max budget of around £1300)

If you were in the US, definitely this. But since you are in the UK, support may be limited and customs charges are heavy... idk. It'd still be a bit cheaper, I think.

The Alienware M17x is much better.
Its processor is the 3rd gen core-i7 while the Qosmio is the 2nd
Its graphic card is starting with GeForce GTX 660M while the the Qosmio is GTX 560M.
That means the M17x is faster and more powerful than the Qosmio so far.
