Why are Americans always depicted are heroes?

Why does America get to blow up the mothership in Independence Day? Why are Japanese horror flicks Americanized just to make the hero American? Why is it in most American films, it's always Los Angeles that gets blown up or invaded? Why aren't any non-American heroes popular in America? It ticks me off. There are OTHER places in the world.

In Korea I was watching this movie where this Korea chap who appeared to have a mental disability found his long lost dad who was a mafia crime boss. In the film, he was hailed as a hero who saved his dad's mafia empire and produced peace between a rival family and he got the prettiest girl on the block.

Keep in mind that his behavior in the film is that of a person suffering from mild to severe mental disabilities.

With that said, I guess if the country of origin made the film, most likely they'll make their nationality the hero rather than the other side.

I suggest watching the movie "Network" Call it a different kind of American hero.

When you go visit other places, just saying America to anyone.
Your going to see many different reactions, more bad than good.

Americans will make movies making Americans the good guys. Just like Japan always makes Japanese people the good guys.

Because the Americans make the movies.

Because Americans are heroes. Just ask the French who breathe free air because of the blood Americans spilled on the beaches of Normandy. Ask the South Koreans, who are much more prosperous than their northern counterparts because of the American blood spilled at the 38th parallel. Americans are ******* awesome - you better recognize.
