I don't see it as cheating. F1 is a team sport, and teams work towards getting the best result for the company. The interest of an individual should never come above that.

Despite Formula One being the World Drivers Championship, the entent is actuall the tream, not the driver. The driver is an employee of the team. The team, therefore, have the final say over how the race is run. I agree, however, that team tactics that deliberatly affect the performance of another driver is wrong. A good example of that is the way Keke Rosberg deliberately help up Ayrton Senna to enable Nigel Mansell to pass and win (Rosberg was being lapped by Senna. Roseberg had to pit because of an incident with Senna that force the Williams driver to pit, so there is an argument for poetic justice). An poor example of team racing is when Rene Arnoux held up his Team mate Alain Prost to enable Alan Jones to sweep past the both of them and win the race (regarded as one of the best race battles of all time and one of the best overtakes of all time). Of course Rene Arnoux was not the most popular or talented driver, ask Gerhard Berger.

No it's just gaining a tactical advantage and is perfectly legal in f1 now! Altho it doesn't always please fans
