Christians: Is our faith a gift or something that can be acquired?

To me, my faith in Jesus Christ is the greatest blessings from God in my life.

I think it is impossible for a sinner to get saved by faith unless God first moved on that person by the Holy Spirit.

"For by grace are you saved through faith, and that (salvation) is the gift of GOd. It is not of works, so no one can boast."

Ephesians 2:8-9

However after we are saved, we can grow in faith and add to our faith, by hearing and doing the word of God.

"We ought always to thank God for you, brothers, and rightly so, because your faith is growing more and more, and the love every one of you has for each other is increasing."

II Thessalonians 1:3

It is a Gift, but a Gift requires being "accepted/actively received", else it can not be effectively Given, and so therefore it is also "acquired".
For best understanding, a complete and circumspect, inductive view( in the logic of all available details) must be freely and positively considered as an entirety of environment/framework, "in all pertaining "Relationship"", as concerning any and to all relative subject matters Given to view in any instance of consideration. In some matters of consideration of the scriptures, and often, a study of a full "build up" of information is required for full and adequate learning. The scripture is an "Environment of Teaching" in Relationship, not a book of "magic answers", where one or other scripture alone will show every aspect of things necessary to be considered. It all Relates, at least, somehow.

Faith is both a gift from God and a fruit of the spirit. It's something that can be grown and exercised. And I agree, it's a blessing!
