Why does Texas lead the nation in executions?
Why does Texas lead the nation in executions? Should we do anything about it? Is there any part of the Law that says why?

Terrific question. But, of Texas' 254 counties, 136 have never sent a single offender to death row (1976-present). One Texas county (Harris) accounts 116 executions since 1982 (more than any state except Texas of course.)
I think that Texas will eventually catch up with the rest of us. But it will probably be the last state to abolish the death penalty. For the past few years, the number of death sentences in Texas has been decreasing. Now that Texas has life without parole on the books as an alternative, Texans can take a look at the death penalty system in action without freeing the most dangerous criminals.
Texas also ranks third in the number of known cases where a wrongly convicted person was sentenced to death.
Murder rates in Texas are above the national average and have been that way for a number of years. Perhaps resorting to the death penalty is a response to that. (It doesn't seem to have helped much.)

properly it quite is a well-known state so as that enables and the juries and judges are greater prepared to supply the dying penalty. This seems to be what the folk of Texas desire so there would not look something to do approximately it different than perhaps deliver a number of those that desire killin' to Texas.

It is easy to see why we execute them, the jury believes they they do not deserve to live. By the way, there is no prof that anyone has been wrongfully executed.

Also makes you wonder how many may have been executed wrongly since there is such a high number.
