Cyanide in split nectarine pit?
My husband was eating a nectarine and it turned out the pit had split. The pits contain a form of cyanide, can it have leaked onto the fruit? Is cyanide from 1 pit dangerous?

He's fine. The amount of cyanide in the pit is incredibly small, and doesn't "leak" as such. You would have to eat a pound of pits a day for many years for that cyanide to start to harm the body.
And he didn't eat the pit. Totally safe.

You'd have to eat a bushel full of just the seed.
