My mother built an add on apartment for my sister. This apartment has networking jacks that run from the main router to her add on apartment. The wifi router is in the front of the house and the backyard doesn't get a wireless signal. Is it possible to link through a networking cable my mothers wireless router to another wireless access point so that there are two wireless access point? I tried plugging in my old WRT54g in my sisters apartment and for a while we had two access points, but then it kicked the old router off, and it became inaccessible. What products should I buy? What is the process called?
