Don't lawyers only have a certain amount of time to reply to..?

Regardless of what is filed, don't attorneys have a certain number of days to file a response? If it's this Order that is filed, they have 20 working days... if it's this Motion they have 30 working days, etc.  They can't just NOT respond at all, can they?

It depends--some states require responsive pleadings to motions and some do not, and generally the deadlines aren't "working days" they are "calendar days." You, seriously, need to read the Rules of Civil Procedure and Rules of Court for your state, or for the federal courts, or for wherever you are. You know about one percent (1%) of what you need to know.

There are deadlines to respond to most, but not all, pleadings.
Sometimes, they're waiting for the judge to respond.
