Disappointed to read the questions and answers concerning this - they seemeed to miss the point entirely ! The National Anthem of Great Britain/UK has been hi jacked by the English sporting authorities and blasts out a at Twickenham and Wembley as the National Anthem of England which it is not ! Quite ludicrous especially when oppisition is one of the other home Nations ! Suggestions please for a suitable candidate to replace that tired dirge ! Jerusalem ? Land of Hope and Glory ?? Please be positive and inspirational !

God Save The Queen is the British National Anthem and is used as the English National Anthem when England are playing. The other home nations have their own national anthems. In the Commonwealth Games and a number of Rugby internationals either Jerusalem of Land of Hope and Glory are used. However, my preference would be Jerusalem as Land of Hope and Glory is more generic whereas Jerusalem refers expressly to England.
No, YOU have missed the point. God Save the Queen is the English and British national anthem and has not been hijacked by any organisation. There are some good arguments for having a dedicated English national anthem but until then it remains GSTQ and changing it will have no effect on the British national anthem.
i'm oftentimes no longer all that bothered regarding the Olympics yet this 365 days with it being a house Olympics for us Brits I truly have thoroughly enjoyed each minute of it and of course team GB has executed the country proud.that is easily the appropriate Olympics that i will keep in mind , and that i've got considered some , uncertain how human beings from different countries could think of yet i think of maximum uncomplicated human beings could could desire to admit that the Brits have executed a bloody stable activity and function executed the country proud.
