Need Help Building a Gaming Computer?

Hello, my co-worker is trying to build a gaming computer for his son. We're figuring in the $1000 to $1500 range. He'll be buying it piece by piece, but we are looking for recommendations on hardware.

He's looking for an i5 processor or i7. I haven't bought a computer in the last couple years, so I'm not too sure on what's considered top of the line for a gaming computer, or what he should spend more on, like should he go all out and get a really good video card?

The one thing I recommended was getting a 128 GB SSD as his main hard drive, then have a secondary hard drive to put his music and pics on?

Anyway, can you guys help me out on what he will need, maybe give a link to it on the net. I don't want to recommend him some super expensive stuff, if it's not going to be necessary.

Processor -
Ram -
Graphics Card -
Hard Drive
Case
Power Supply

Anything else he will need?

Cool thanks, I'll give him that list and he can go from there. I'll also have him contact the IT guy for our work and ask him if what he thinks about this stuff.
