How can I install gmount on Ubuntu?

I have a laptop that is running Ubuntu but can't connect to the internet via wireless. I'm guessing that my wireless card isn't compatible.

I downloaded Linux Mint and I'd like to install it on the laptop running Ubuntu. I have an ISO but no disk at hand that is big enough for it.

So I'd like to burn the image as a virtual drive on the Ubuntu laptop. I've read I need to install gmount to do this. However without an internet connection the usual method isn't going to happen.

On another laptop I downloaded gmount from Source forge and have transferred it to Ubuntu laptop. I think this is as far as I will get on my own as I have no experience using Ubuntu.

I've got a whole lot of files of different types and I don't really know how to proceed. Any advice?

Thanks John. I had tried to use the software centre but it wouldn't let me install it as I have no internet connection.

Thanks for the information about the the possibility of a workaround for the wireless capabilities - I'll look into it.

Wht do it the hard way?
Installing from source (which is what you are trying to do when you download the files from Source Forge) is not a falling off the log simple thing to do
Here's an easier way
On the Ubutu tool bar you have an icon for the Ubuntu Software Center
click on it
in the search box type Gmount
Click on the answer
Click install
Enter your password
It's installed

As far as your wireless goes
Many laptops have wireless adaptors that will not run natively under Linux. The reason for that is that the adapters depend on files that Microsoft puts in their Windows OS. It's the same deal that MS did with "Winmodems" back in the days of dialup.
Changing your distro most likelt will not help you fix this.
You have a couple of options:
First go the the Ubuntu forums and root anound their wireless section. If someone has made your wireless adapter work, he will most likely have posted it there.
If no luck there, then try Google
If you have no luck, use the Ubuntu forums to find a compatable USB dongle that Ubuntu supports. Get it an use it inplace of the crippled one
