Where I can find undergraduate alternative loans. FAFSA has screwed me.?
I'm a 20 year old student who has just transferred to a 4 year university and I need loans to pay for college. I was going through the financial aid program, but I just learned over the phone that I'm not actually eligible even though its all been set up and school is just a couple weeks from starting. So now to go to school I need to find some alternative loans. I will be eligible for financial aid after this semester, so I only need enough for 1 semester's worth of schooling. I also need something that I will not need to pay back immediately, and of course as low an interest rate as possible.
If anyone can please please please tell me if you happen to know of good alternative loans then please direct me there. So far I only see bank loans online, which I am definitely going to be looking over. Thank you in advanced for any help received.
I'm not eligible because FAFSA requires a 70% completion rate of class. I have attended a community college and due to a mixture of bad teachers and personal life complications, in addition to being really bad with foreign languages, I have had to drop several classes and failed two classes. Bringing me to a 68% completion rate. I was not aware that dropping classes would affect FAFSA, and no one ever deemed it worthy of telling me before I did so (yay for community college advisers).
