How do i fix my bikes grip shifters?

Question

I have a 21 speed bike and the left grip shifter is stuck on 1 and wont **** to either 2 or 3. My right grip shifter is stuck on 7-5 but wont sifter do any of the lower numbers. any help with this would be greatly appreciated.

You probably have rust in your shift cables.  Replace the cables and oil the derailleurs.
