Not sure if my new guppys have ick?

Hi i bought some female guppys today because they was really nice lookin and wanted to breed them with my male just to see what the colour would come out like on the offspring anyway in the shop i had a real good look at them before i bought them dident see anythin wrong but when i got them home i had another look while i was puttin them in my tank but saw nothin but as soon as i put them in without the bag there i noticed really small white dots just on the bottom of the females fins so now im not sure if it is ick or thats just how they are iv never had a fish with ick so im not really sure what to look for its not like coverd the whole fin or body its just like 4 or 5 spots scatterd along the bottom iv been researchin and lookin at ick on guppys for hours now and still none the wiser

Should i treat for ick anyway? and if i do and they dont have it would that harm them?

If it is Ich There would be no harm turning the Temperature up to 86F and treating them that way .You would turn the Heater up 1 degrees per hour and watch the fish for any affects of the heat .
You would add an air stone as high temps deplete Oxygen and do daily water changes .
You would leave it like that for 14 days .

But i would at the moment just watch the fish and see if any more spots appear .

I would just treat them to make sure. It is either Ich or a pattern in the females genetic line. But just treat them to be safe. If you have an empty tank put them in there so they wont harm any other fish and treat them! Hope this helsp!

It probably is ick (Ichthyophthirius multifilis).  The treatment won't hurt healthy fish.  Don't delay.
