I need wireless range increased between two buildings?
Hello! This is a little bit complex, so I'll start off with a description of my problem.
I have a router in an office that is a separate building from the house, approximately 75 foot space between the two with multiple insulated exterior walls. The router we have is specific for this office and I can NOT change the firmware on this unit. I have no wifi reception in the house due to poor signal transmission by this router.
I have 3 items in my possession, a powerline ethernet adapter, a router that is my own that I can turn into a bridge, and a wifi range extender. I'm trying to get internet into the house and have it be stable enough that I don't disconnect every 30 seconds as is happening now.
Now I'm thinking I can connect the office router to powerline and receive internet in the house via the powerline adapter, connect router of mine in bridge mode (DD-WRT firmware compatible router) and connect to this router for my internet. Is this plausible? Or should I mess around with the wifi range extender and hope that works?
Thanks so much!
