No one in their RIGHT mind would refuse them, in that situation w/a piece of metal gone missing, to protect themselves in the search for it. The ones that said, "No", do they want to do that search knowing the deadly piece of metal is out there? Do they want to get stabbed, seriously injured, &/or die? Unbelievable that this stuff keeps happening. ={ More ppl jumping on the crazy, full speed ahead train that's going overboard. ={
I hope it's not that they could have had it gone missing on purpose (inside job) so that there would be a strike & they could lay off & weed out some guards amongst them by only hiring back the ones they want now.

added to adtl details: you mean that the guards are usually present (at the trial) before the inmates go to prison? The guards didn't put them in jail, but some inmates will take it out on all authority tbecuz they're there, right? ={
There are many inmates, in that jail, who have done some pretty bad things. And those inmates are usually there, in that jail, before they go to prison. ~doesn't make sense; reword, please. =]

All they are asking is, that when shaking down cells and areas, they be allowed to wear a vest.
The vest they would wear are shank proof; not like a Ballistics vest.
It should be their right to wear one if they feel the need to be protected.
I do not understand why the ADMINISTRATION would not allow this?
The Administrators are in a Antiseptically clan enviornment all day while the officers are amongst the worst.
I do not understand the Administrations Policy of not allowing one to have a vest?
I do not agree with a walk out, a Blue Flue would have done the same, but on a security basis of just enough call ins to slow the facility down without hurting security needs....Show more

I would say it depends on the jail and the jail population. There may be times that protective vests are very much needed.

One of my church ministries is in our local county jail. The particular inmates we minister to are not dangerous and I am totally comfortable in their presence. There are others in other parts of the jail I probably would not want to be alone with.

I would suggest that the jailers are the best experts on when and where body armor might be needed and that they be allowed to wear it when justified....Show more

It may be a money issue but that doesn't matter over the safety of the guards. I think it's better to protect them and prevent an injury....Show more
