Does W-9 address have to match IRS tax return address?

If I have to fill out the W-9 form for work purposes, does the address have to match the exact address in the IRS tax return record, or would matched name and SSN be enough? The reason is because I still file my tax return using my parents' address, but I often travel out of state for work and often come back home here and there. Thank you.

It doesn't matter. They don't compare the two.

IRS does not see the W-9(or the W-4)
if you want your 1099 M sent to you you best enter the address you will receive your mail when the time comes

No, address doesn't have to match. SS# is the critical thing. But the payer will send your 1099 to the address on the W-9 so use an address where you'll get it, like your parents.

they could document pastime you earn on your bills to the IRS. i'm shocked you probably did no longer could fill it out once you first set up the account. once you document your taxes on the top of the year, verify to anticipate the fact out of your financial organisation considering you will would desire to comprise it on your income you document. that's sometimes referred to as an earned pastime fact. whether you earn only $5 in pastime, they'll document it.

You can put any address where you want to receive your mail.
