Out of state tuition for university of ia?

I live in illinois but the university of ia is actually closer than the university of illinois so id kind of rather go to the iowa one but eeveryone says the tuition would be way too much since im out of state. Is it really that much for out of state? Would i be better off going to the illinois one?

(if i go to illinois i might not be able to come home til christmas because its too far to take my junky car)

occasionally, border schools allow in-state tuition
it just depends on the school & their agreement with the states
you would have to contact UoI admissions office & ask them

you can find UoI tuition info here: http://www.registrar.uiowa.edu/TuitionandFees/TuitionandFeesInformation/tabid/95/Default.aspx

you will have to download the pdf with tuition & fees to see what the difference is for in state vs out of state

out of state typically is 3-4 times higher than in-state
