First time voter, what should you know?

Have you ever wondered why so many American's don't vote? I pondered, could it be because they just don't know how? Ok, so we get registered at the post office, court house, etc. They send you a voter registration card, now what???? Let's help out our fellow American's this year and make EVERY vote count. Please, leave your suggestions for others, and a step by step voting experience for those who have never done it before. Can you imagine being the one person to get in line and then NOT know what to do? Intimidation is not something we need to let keep us from the polls this year. Help out Americans!

If you have your voter's registration card, that's all you need to vote. Make sure you know you're going to vote. I strongly recommend that you do your homework before hand and find out as much as possible about ALL the candidates so you can make an intelligent decision on who to vote for and on any questions/propositions.

The machines we have are self explanatory ... even blind people don't have a problem using them. They take you step by step through each screen. If you can read, you can follow the truly easy instructions.

If you vote Republican, you'll be expected to know who you are voting for. If you are Democrat, they will give you paper instructions on who to vote for and how to vote on any questions/propositions. At least that is the way it is done here where I live.

Sad isn't it? I live in a predominately Democrat state.
