I liked the old days better, when we would just trade and exchange services. I can't even travel anymore, 'cuz it requires money. Why can't it just be, I visit your country, you visit my country, and that's it. Who's the a$$hole who invented money?

I think the time you were thinking of were many many MANY years ago........
And money were invented by greedy morons who thought they could buy the world with some metal and paper......
'Money' started in, or probably before, ancient Egypt. There, they used gold or jewelry, and usually only the RICH had any money. Commoners just bartered with services or food, with each other. That sort of money continued for thousands of years, until kings started paying people who worked in the castle with gold coins.
Gold coins spread out of the castle, and people accepted them as worth something, because they were GOLD, and the KING liked gold, so they must be worth something to HIM, so people started using the coins with each other. That idea continued for hundreds of years. The US only had PAPER money after 1861.
Who's going to pay all those men mining and refining, exporting and importing the oil, flying the air plane, paying the security, paying the guy that trained the pilot, paying the electricity for the air port, etc
