My best friends bf has been with my friend for 2 months. I've been with my bf for a year. I got along great with her bf at first but now he likes to drink and criticize my bf to my face when he's not around. My friend just stands back. she says she defends me when they have their talks. He just doesnt like that my bf is younger than I am. I tell him to back off but it doesn't seem to stop. What should I do..i love my best friend but I can't stand her bf...?

Sit down with your best friend and her boyfriend and have a serious talk. Tell them that this is a deal breaker, and if he continues to criticize your boyfriend then your friendship with him is over. It really is none of his business ( tell him this) nor are any of his own personal pet peevs about age or anything else. You lead separate lives when it comes to intimacies.
And I agree with you that he sounds like an a@@hole. He is sticking his nose in areas that are none of his business. But that is none of your business either so dont tell your griflriend what you think about him.
If nothing else works, then meet your girlfriend without the guys. Sometimes they last longe than the men do.
