The plane of cleavage is the angle that you have to assume so you can peak down at the cleavage of the young lady standing below you while still being able to duck back quickly in the event that she looks up. If you fail to stay back far enough then she might see you if she looks up and start to cover herself, in which case you've clearly exceeded the plane of cleavage.
