Can dogs bite their tongues?

Or lips or anywhere inside their mouths?

Last night, my puppy started crying in pain. I immediately went to see what was wrong. I opened up her mouth and she cried again, but I kept it open to see if she swallowed something. I didn't see anything so I pet her and she just looked at me. She had the hiccups for about 30 seconds. She then went and got a drink of water and started playing again.

My friend was watching her while I was on the computer and he said she was chewing on her toy. So I figured it might have something to do with her swallowing something, but I didn't see anything chewed off on her toy.

She was acting normal this morning and was eating and drinking fine.

Yes, just like people. My first bull terrier used to bite her tongue when she played with her ball. Pup will be ok.

The dogs my in-regulations have do! they have all Pugs and the daddy of each and all of the domestic dogs has the longest tongue! rather some circumstances he has hardship eating and picking up toys. He snorts and screeches whilst he breathes and it rather is worse whilst he's sound asleep! it rather is enormously much as though he have been given a huge dogs' tongue via mistake! As for different breeds, i've got in no way observed any problems with biting their tongues, different than for perhaps whilst they get too excited or consume to quickly like human beings do!

Your puppy may be teething - and losing her baby teeth! Don't be surprised to find them in her bed or on the carpet!! She'll be fine; it's all part of growing up.........
