Excellent question. The purpose is for dominance and control. The brain (esp. the frontal lobe) region isn't fully developed until late teens 18-19. This makes it much easier for (some) Arab men to manipulate and brain wash young girls into submission/acceptance of their situation....Show more

I'm not sure about that or what the actual answer is.

The answer I was once told when I was in Turkey (which is culturally similar) is that it is traditional for women to marry after leaving school (so late teens), but the men go into national service (or the equivalent) and so don't get married until they leave service which makes then that much older than their brides.

I think although there is some truth to that, it is very much a cultural thing for the men to be older than the women, which is true in a lot of relationships.

As far as older men with very young women, that is not specific to any race or nationality - there are just some dirty old men around who like very young women....Show more
