Toro 22in Recycler Lawn Mower Oil Problems...?

Just bought a Toro Lawn Mower from Home Depot Back in May. Running great for a while. Recently I noticed White Smoke starting to come out of the muffler. I thought maybe I just didn't maintain a good oil level. I put more in and did another mow. The white smoke started again and got much worse this time. I checked the oil to find that it was completely empty even though I just filled it up! Upon further inspection it appeared that oil was coming out of the Air Filter area....I don't remember doing anything that would of caused this to happen..tipping..running something over..etc. The Mower is new enough that if there is a defect than it would fall under warranty..however..I want to make sure this isn't a common problem and may be something I'm doing??? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks for your time....

Sounds very much as if you overfilled it, and it's being pumped into the overflow, then into the carb.
By this point you may need a new air filter and spark plug..

Edit: On second thought you may have a stuck exhaust valve. This should NOT occur on a mower this new!

At first I was thinking that you overfilled the crankcase which will cause oil to be pushed into the air filter area through the crankcase vent but when you said after mowing the crankcase was again empty makes me think that there is something else going on. There is a valve on the side of the engine similar to a pcv valve on a car. If it is bad oil could be pushed out of the crankcase and into the air filter area. If this mower is still under warranty I would take it back before trying to work on it myself.

Battery is commonly the very first thing to go, so possibilities are it does no longer have the heart to do some thing besides be a booklet end or paper-weight. First, is it 12 Volt? If so, run jumper cables from vehicle battery and notice if it makes a difference. If the press occurs you understand it is the battery.
