How to remove taps from tap shoes?

I plan to make my own tap shoes. How can I remove the front taps from my old shoes? They do not have screws they have nails. Here is a pic so you can get idea of what they look like.

use a flat screwdriver and wedge it out, it destroys the old shoes but the taps are fine
