I eat a lot of white rice and noodles with healthy sides. Will I gain weight?

For meals, I know that pasta and white rice isn't that good but that's all my mom cooks and I always eat it with lots of veggies and tofu and shrimp and fish and some meat sometimes. I also always have fruit as dessert. Is this still considered healthy and will keep me slim/lean and healthy?

Ask mom if she would consider switching to brown rice instead of white rice.

Brown rice is much healthier and lower in calories.

The difference between brown rice and white rice is not just color! A whole grain of rice has several layers. Only the outermost layer, the hull, is removed to produce what we call brown rice.

The white rice is pretty good for weight gains since it has a lot of carbs in it. It's not even that bad for weight loss, as long as you include the rice as part of your carb intake then it's okay. Noodles are alright, not as good as rice though.

Well, your meals are certainly balanced and healthy. It is nice to hear that your mom makes nutritious meals.

As for weight gain, it depends on the serving size, and how much exercise you get. If you're really worried, perhaps you could ask your mom to serve you half as much of the starch component (rice, noodles, pasta) with the same amount of everything else.
