Is the TV show 'Paranormal Witness' real?

I mean are the stories that the people are talking about real? Because it always shows a sort of movie/drama thing with actors showing what happened, and then the real people that it happened to narrating the story. But isn't there a chance the director has exaggerated details to make it more interesting or scary, or that the people on the show are lying completely?
I was watching it on Sunday night and it scared the crap out of me. But some of the people's reactions didn't seem real enough. Like on the one I was watching the woman could hear a stomping sound in the attic like someone was running around with boots on and she called her husband from work. He went up to investigate and there was nothing there and the sounds stopped. But then as soon as he climbed back down the attic steps and shut the door the noises started up again. But instead of going back up he said he'd 'had enough' and went back to work! If it was me I would call the police or something!

I watched that episode, it was an interesting one.
I liked it because it showed all the classic signs of an alleged haunting and I have to admit it was rather creepy. It also showed the stress that people feel when they believe they are being haunted and the mother admitted to it helping break up their marriage.

Did you notice though, they never interviewed the ex-husband, that's because he had a sceptical view of the haunting and it wouldn't have been very entertaining if he was interviewed. Also some of the things the mother said was quite telling like when she explained that as soon as she got a divorce the house ''Felt lighter'' and the haunting stopped, but when her daughter found the wedding dress the haunting's began again! Also be wary of the often quoted sceptical response that would have needed psychiatric help or medication. All it took was a little support from a Medium and she is perfectly healthy now.

I think the mother and her daughters we're genuine in their belief that they we're haunted, but when it comes to we're they actually haunted it's impossible to say.

Of course, there is probably a root of truth in it, but its safe to assume any story made into a tv show has been embellished, or exaggerated for drama, paranormal or not.
I am not familiar with the show, but it sounds a lot like the show "A Haunting...."
Of course, they tell the story, and then they show you an over the top dramatization which will aways lead you to believe there is something paranormal going on. However, if a friend came to you and told you the same story, without mentioning ghosts, would you automatically think it was ghosts? I would suggest to him/her that there was probably a raccoon or other animal that got into the attic. That would also explain why the sound stopped when the guy went up.

Because there is no actual documentation for a lot of things portrayed it may be that some things are embellished a bit or even made up. Still there have been a great many things happen for which there is no rational explanation. And I think most of the stories have at least some basis in fact.

It is based on entirely wittnesses. They are just telling each of their stories and sharing them with people. You can research for yourself some of the places that are mentioned in Paranormal Witness and have a look at the experiences that went on there.
Very similar things have happened to my family in our house. It isn't as if activity like this doesn't happen to people, it's very much out there and it certainly exists.
