For white perch,yes,with good results,yellow perch,no,they like a lively shiner much better than a dead one,I always end up getting an eel when I try that method for them,it never ends good....Show more

If they are biting well then it doesn't matter if the bait is alive or not. You can jig a little bit to give the bait some movement if you are worried about it....Show more
