just know that there is no right answer. unless your going to put her in a home that is luxurious and the staff wait on her hand and foot then your not going to be doing her a favor. my grandma was placed in a home a few years back and now she just sits in a wheel chair like a zombie. mind you that she worked as a school lunchlady up until about 7 years ago. when she quit her job thats when things went downhill. keeping busy physically and mentally helped her stay healthy. now she just rots in a nursing home. she does nothing all day but sit in a chair and stare at the wall.

I had 2 deal with this cituation with my parents, its a hard decision but you have to do what is best for your parents . If your mom is getting worse she needs 2 b where she can b watched & taken proper care of like bathing, i can imagine how hard this is on your dad. Taking care of your mom & what a relief it will b on your dad. at the hositals n allmost every town they have a social woker who does nothing but deal with these issues. She wil see what insurance your folks have tell you the facilites n a 500 mile radious of where u r at. & help u all in this hard time you will learn things that u had'nt even thought of. GOod luck with what ever u do.

This is a very difficult situation for you. I would suggest putting your mother in a home as they would have the resources needed to help her. Also, they would be qualified to help. It may seem as though you would be just dumping her in there. But that certainly isn't the case. You could visit her as much as you want. Just make sure you pick a suitable home. Check them out online and make sure you put her into a home you are happy with. Good luck :-)

So sorry to hear that. Life is much harder for the family of Alzheimer patients. You can turn to the doctors for some advice and in addition you can search some blogs on how to take care of Alzheimer patients. Hope things gonna be fine for you.

Something you should really consider. But you have to be very active and visit often. Nursing homes do not always take the best care of your love ones.

Do not send any valuables as you will never see them again and she can not tell you who took them.
