Specifically for a 73 Eldorado, What year did the gold tone keys come out and what was the emblem on them? Was it just the Cadillac emblem or the Cadillac with the crest emblem on the keys. We are looking for authentic keys for a gift and want to get the right ones if we can.

Im not sure if there were gold keys till the 80's sometime. In the 70's the original keys did have the crest on them. I think the wreath and crest came later.
A 73 should use an E for the ignition and a H for the doors.

There's nothing special about a gold colored key for a '73 Cadillac. It's just a standard steel key blank that has been plated with a gold colored metal. Search on Ebay. You can probably find hundreds of them.

They were part of a gold trim option on just about any year. You might try calling a Cadillac dealer.
