Face irritation, help me??!?!?!?!?!?

Question

ok, so I went to target and got some pink grapefruit wash, and some oilfree astringent, and, some makeup pads with cucumber sent. So the first day, it dried out my face, and I thought it was normal, since they were oil free. But then, the second day it BURNED SO BADLY. I pushed on and put everything back on. Then after an hour, under my eyes was all red.  I talked to m sister and she put cocconut oil on my face. Then this morning my face was all dried out, like it looked like a sunburn. It hurts so bad, so I put benodryl on it. Can you help me remove it??? And some ingriedients I dont have, like unscented lotion. (thanks)

You are obviously having a reaction/skin sensitivity to the chemicals in one or all of these products. If you are referring to Neutrogena's Grapefruit Acne Face Wash, here is a review of it on makeupalley.com (which is a great source for reviews of beauty products), it looks like several people stated it was drying or that they had an allergic reaction to it:

I would nix the "pink grapefruit wash" and oil free astringent--which is probably mostly alcohol (too drying for ANY skin type). 

Thayers makes an alcohol free Witch Hazel w/ Aloe Astringent, which I highly recommend. I also recommend natural or mostly natural products. I personally use Burt's Bees Sensitive Skin Cleanser with Cotton Extract and it works marvelously. It's a rich cream so no dryness--and I have VERY oily skin and it still works wonders! Then I simply use Thayer's witch hazel as an astringent and 100% tea tree oil as a spot treatment for blemishes and that's it. For lotion, I simply use a very SMALL amount of Palmer's Shea Butter Lotion. 

If your skin is naturally oily, your skin will do best when you cleanse it WITHOUT removing your NATURAL oils. Using harsh cleansers will make your skin react, dry out, and start producing MORE OIL to try to make up for what you're stripping.

If you're having a reaction to anything you've been using, don't use it anymore!  You could be having a severe sensitivity or an allergic reaction.  I've been using witch hazel (in the pharmacy area) as my astringent, and it works really well.  Use something gentle, like witch hazel, ONLY for a few days and see if that helps.  If not, go see a dermatologist.
