What would it take to make GM produce a SFA truck?

I think since GM took a bailout from the taxpayer they should be subject to taxpayer control. Americans want a Chevy/GMC with a SFA but GM will not produce one even though the HD market demands it in every market study conducted but still no SFA. Does GM really want to deny its shareholders their wishes. Is it maybe a hidden political agenda? What gives?

GM also quit making the Caprice when they absolutely monopolized the police market, and gave it to Ford on a silver platter. SUV's/trucks make the most profit, so they try to appeal to the people who buy the most of the product, which are those who never take them off the road.

Just as GM stopped installing manual transmissions in their trucks, they are no longer concerned with the TRUE heavy duty market. They figure they can't appeal to both markets, so they will make one that fits the most buyers.

Bad strategy, that is no way to keep brand loyalty.

They seem to be more worried about ride quality, etc.
The "soccer moms" / mall crawlers", etc are all worried about ride quality.
GM is probably working on NVH #'s.
I agree with you... I intentionally bought an older GMC mainly because it has straight axles both ends!
