98 Durango and I had plugs and wires replaced along with the Map sensor and evac.?

Battery only two years olds but my battery tester indicted that the Alternator is weak.Will the alternator cause my truck to cot off when I come to a stop?

i agree with pedro, although i didnt answer because i didnt know if it was the same problem.
got 2 durangos in the yard, both newer than yours, but both are flukey. if the battery is low when started, the stupid things will not idle. they run perfect, but refuse to idle. charge the battery, and reset the computer, and they idle beautifully.
the years are 99 and 02. the 99 is the 318, the 02 is the smaller v8

Yes, check the battery voltage with it running. It needs to be in the mid 13 to mid 14 volts, If not then the alternator is not putting out.

as long as the battery is staying charged while your running it then the alternator is keeping it charged ! when your car is running all the accessories gets the juice from the battery and the alternator,s job is to keep putting the juice back in the battery ! sounds like fuel ! how old is the fuel filter ?

Wokred on many of thes, and te4h answer is ALWAYS the same. Have yoru THROTTLE BODY and IDLE AIR CONTROL VALVE cleaned up to SHOWROOM clean. THe IAC finee tuens he AIR enterign the engine and a clogged up one will waste FUEL and clog up yor converter and o2 senosrs. GOOD LUCK!!
