How does one wean off of the beta blocker Bystolic.?

I spoke with my Doc and he is not interested in switching my meds and i have side effects i don't enjoy. Additionally, they seem rather ineffective. My average bp is 135/85. It varies of course. This was before bystolic and after bystolic the numbers run the same, butt he side effects are new. I believe my bp is spiking when anxious so I'd rather deal with the anxiety first, and see how the BP reacts as a result. Then, if still high, get another type of BP med.
with all of this said, I'm 6'1, 205 lbs. i don't drink or smoke. My concern is how to properly wean off the beta blocker bystolic the proper way.

Just as a reminder, i mentioned in the first sentence my Doc is not interested in me switching or going off this med, but he's not the one experiencing the side effects either.

Only with the help of your doctor.

Cut the Beta Blockade slowly: eg...half the daily dose for a week. than alternate this to every other day for a week and to once a week for a week or so (probably over conservative but never hurts)
