How does one wean off of the beta blocker Bystolic?

I spoke with my Doc and he is not interested in switching my meds and i have side effects i don't enjoy. Additionally, they seem rather ineffective. My average bp is 135/85. It varies of course. This was before bystolic and after bystolic the numbers run the same, butt he side effects are new. I believe my bp is spiking when anxious so I'd rather deal with the anxiety first, and see how the BP reacts as a result. Then, if still high, get another type of BP med.
with all of this said, I'm 6'1, 205 lbs. i don't drink or smoke. My concern is how to properly wean off the beta blocker bystolic the proper way.

I'm not fond of the medical machine to be honest. I believe he used the meds as a go to. I was asking about nutrition or excersice ideas to lower it first since i felt it was just pre-hyper. My pulse ox is usually around 97 every time ever checked and my pulse is usually 60-65 Bpm on average while sitting. 37? 36 years old ex smoker. Stopped smoking 3 years ago.

Oh yeah, and sorry. This is the fourth doc I've been too. The first two i felt did not listen so i went to find a new doc. Then one failed to show for my initial aptn so i never went back. Then picked this guy who is a practicing DO, not MD. The first time i went to the doc since I was 18 so just wanted a once over. Blood work all came out fine. Ok, to much info now. Sorry. Just want to know how to wean off this medication. I'm not a big pill guy.

You are going to have to talk to your doctor again. If, as you say, your BP was 135/85 before the beta-blockers, then there must have been some other reason for prescribing them (too fast a heart rate, perhaps). If that is the case, then it is not surprising your doctor does not want to change your medication.
