Algebra Questions Need help with solution?

(4y-5)(3y^3-2y^2-8)

I am not sure how to reach the answer
Please show me the work
Do I use foil?
answer: 12y^4-23y^3+10y^2-32y+40

(12a^5b)/(18a^3b^6)

(2a^2)/(3b^5)

2a^2/3b^5 is the answer to the problem 12a^5b/18a3b^6.
(12y^4-23y^3+10y^2-32y+40 is the answer to the problem (4y-5)(3y^3-2y^2-8).

I need steps for both problems to reach the answers.
I am not sure how to break that down using foil I have only done problems like (12x-5)(5-12x) using foil. Please help.

You just need to times all of the second bracket by 4y and then times all of the second bracket by -5. I did this and got:
(12y^3-8y^2-32y-15y^3+10y^2+40)
This can be simplified down to:
(-3y^3+2y^2-32y+40)

Your next question firstly simplify the numbers: 12/18 which can be simplified down to 2/3. You can then simplify a^5/a^3 which when dividing powers you just minus them so 5-3 = 2. So it is simplified down to a^2/1 or just a^2. Then you simplify b/b^6 or b^1/b^6. So like the other question you just minus 1 from 6 to get 5. Pitting this all together you get:
(2a^2)/(3b^5)

1/
Use FOIL
2/
Use a^m / a^n = a^(m-n)

3/
it's (2a^2)/(3b^5)

Your answer is the same as mine. Proceed with the next two problems.
