"Y/A 'Unavailable!'" Does this make you angry?

I recently answered a question that required considerable research on my part. When I submitted the answer, I got the "unavailable" screen. The answer was lost! However, they were back "on" within 2 minutes!

Couldn't they have alerted folks that Y/A was 'down' for a time before one spent time answering a question whose answer would be deleted?

This has happened many times over the years. This is my only complaint against Y/A. Why do they continue to do this?

Yahzmin: It was not a long answer, but it may have been somewhat controversial as to the content. However, I have had that happen in the past with really non-controversial answers like "wear the pink dress instead of the blue one."

Kuku: I DID backpage! The answer was still lost! It may have been more controversial than I thought!

The site wasn't down. Either the question was deleted while you were answering it, or something IN your answer triggered the error message, such as too much text (5000 character limit), too many links, links to pages that trigger an antispamming reaction, or something similar. To avoid this, when you know you are going to type a long answer after researching, first star the question. Then, construct your answer in an outside program like notepad. Check the number of characters. Copy and paste your answer after returning to the question.

I never lose my answer if I back page.
It almost always means the question got deleted while I was answering
