What type of violations will result in a Y!A account suspension?
1) For example, if you've had an account suspended, did you post:
Spam Porn Racist remarks Bullying comments Adult/Obscene material or language Rants Chat Other
(Please, try to answer honestly; we're all anonymous here).
2) Is CHAT alone, enough to receive a suspension?
Thanks in advance for your answers!!!

@Risa If someone is mean or racist, you should report them. Don't comment to them (they are just looking for attention).
@Obscure and Enigmatic Thank you for the offer, but I am *not* planning on getting suspended!! :P

Hmmm... there is an answer missing. :-( Does anyone know what happened to it?

Hi Venus, Interesting and complex question! I'll do my best to explain my experiences.
I used to eavesdrop daily at the old (now dismantled) appeals forum. And from there I learned a Lot of the inside Y! policies. Granted, things have changed, but here's what I know.
Yahoo! would rather NOT spill all the secret policies, due to the fact that users will try to "push their luck" to the maximum. But here are some of the basics that I observed.
The easiest way to get suspended is by having multiple accounts and/or repeated violating accounts. Y! cannot stop users from making new accounts. <--that's a fact. BUT they can delete the abusers accounts as soon as they are noticed.
Next would be underage accounts. These are suspended because Y! MUST comply with USA-COPPA legislation. It's not a a matter of a choice or a mistake, its law.
Pornographic display avatars are a one time suspension.
Sexual solicitation to a minor can be an automatic suspension. Threats of bodily harm can also get a user suspended 100% spam accounts will be suspended.
Some of the above might be a one-time only offense, but some might get a warning before suspension. Now ^that being said.... .. every single suspension is done by an actual Y! staff, and ALL suspended users have the right to appeal. And Y! has the right to deny the appeals. Remember they have access to everything that you ever do on their site, even when you *think* you've deleted it or hidden the evidence.
Harassing and bullying can be suspendable, but Y!AT needs to verify the information, and investigate. Many users imagine that they are being harassed/bullied/insulted, but when the posts are investigated, they often are not exactly defined as bullying/harassment/insults. And Y!ATs will usually remove posts but they don't HAVE to suspend accounts over an accusation.
Cheating can get accounts suspended, but usually a user is warned once, and gets suspended the second time.
"Chat" is a minor infraction, and rarely gets a suspension, however some Chat borders on harassing a particular user.
Racist remarks might be suspendable, but might take more than one incident too.
I hope that is enough insight, because i don't have time to type more at the moment. I may come back to add/edit another time though.
