Do you still need to be 18 to buy M rated games at gamestop?

I'm just wondering because I don't go to Gamestop but a few times a year and don't really know much about their current policies but I'm thinking about getting Black Ops 2 because I can get it under $20 with a trade in.
The game is 17+ so I don't see why they wouldn't let me buy it, but I've seen people get harassed for Id to prove they are 18 to buy M games even though you could tell they were in their 20's
I don't want to go to Gamestop to find out that they won't sell it to me.
They already have my date of birth from my PowerUp Rewards account.
I know about the parental presence allowing you to buy it but I most likely won't be able to have a parent with me. (Is it even needed if you are 17?)
I will appreciate it if I can get a definite answer, (I can't call them and ask because they are closed)
Thanks

It really seems pointless for them to rate it 17+ if you need to be 18
Why don't they just make it M 18+ if its the law?

Gamestop sells M games to 17+ or under 17 with an adult present at least the Gamestop in my town does that and it makes no sense as the ESRB say rated M is for 17 and up. Also it is not illegal for under 17 to buy these games it is just gamestop policy as the ESRB rating are only guidelines not laws.

Yeah, you need to be 17+ to purchase a rated M sport there just have an identification and your just right to head, in case you are underaged take a dad or mum/sibling who is eighteen+. When you take an older brother/sister simply say (s)he's responsible for you and they are going to allow you to buy it. :)

Yeah.

There's probably a few stores that will still sell the game, just for money purposes.
