As previously stated a Lieutenant is higher than a Sergeant.
Officers always out rank Warrant Officers, who out rank Enlisted.
So officers out rank enlisted.

Also, a Sergeant would be a Non-Commissioned Officer vs a Lieutenant who is a Commissioned Officer, just to explain it in another clear way.

A Sergeant is only an E-5, SSG (Staff Sergeant) is E-6. SFC (Sergeant First Class) is E-7, 1SG (First Sergeant) is E-8 and then Master Sergeant is E-9.

A Lieutenant is an officer and is therefore above any enlisted rank.

A LT. A LT is a platoon leader & a Sergeant is usually a team leader. Teams are below the platoon level. There's your non google answer.

Omg I guess a team is a higher element than a platoon, stupid kids. You play cod & can't get this right.
