What are some good things to buy when you'll be feeding a vegetarian for just one week?

My daughter's 20 year old best friend is coming to visit and I am not sure what to buy for her. Can you help me out? She is being shy about requesting things.

Favorite Answer

Get things that everyone will eat- lettuce, tomato, carrots, salad dressing, croutons, breakfast cereal, eggs, potatoes, frozen waffles, juice, bananas, bread, peanut butter, jelly, sliced cheese, pasta, tomato sauce, frozen pizza.......

See? It's not complicated at all!

Personally, I would not buy Quorn or soy products, as many vegetarians don't like them, and she may feel bad that you bought something just for her.

When in doubt, ASK
Why not wait until she arrives and take them to the store. Explain you were no certain what to buy and felt better if she would pick out her favorites. That would remove stress from both of you. You will not have to worry that you bought the wrong foods
She will not have the problem of being made to refuse foods she doesn't like.
Even in the veggie culture, they do not all eat/ like the same foods just because it happens to be vegetarian

I agree with the posts about foods that anyone in your family can eat. She would appreciate fresh fruits and vegetables because she can put those together in a meal of her choice. Additionally, if you have a favorite family meal, try making it vegetarian one night she is there.

Just a staple she may appreciate is soy or almond milk. My personal preference is the Almond Breeze brand for almond milk, but Silk is another option.

Thanks for going the extra mile.

Ughh, I am veggie and I HATE Quorn products!

Get some strawberriess, banananas, oranges. Cliff bars, larabars, uber bars. pure bars. Baked pita chips, hummos, salsa, avocado, "goddess" salad dressing, salad ingredients. Some different Amy's soups. Quinoa.
