Is a 2002 chevy cavalier z24 a sports car?

it's not a stick shift, it's a two door, and has a 2.4 L in it.

People - get your definitions straight!!!!

A "sports car" is traditionally defined as a two-seater (although some four seaters are acceptable), lightweight car designed and built for speed/handling. The Mustang/Camaro can be loosely called "muscle cars" in today's definition, but they're more appropriately called "pony cars", due to the fact that a true "muscle car" is a big engine in a light chassis. They are actually too heavy for the traditional definition.

Corvettes are sports cars. Miatas (believe it or not) are sports cars.

A cavalier, despite any badging or edition, are compact cars - nothing more. If you modify it for performance, it then becomes a "tuner".

Far from it. Gearbox (transmission) doesn't mean a thing. That car is 11 years old, and worth next to nothing.

HI, NOT REALLY, IT'S KIND OF SPORTY FOR SMALL CAR. MOST ,BUT NOT ALL SPORTS CARS DON'T HAVE A REAR SEAT.CAMAROS, MUSTANGS ETC. ONLY HAVE REAR SEATS FOR INSURANCE REASONS. SPORTS CARS, PORCHES, LAMBORGHINIS, FERRARIS, ETC. USUALLY HAVE ONLY A FRONT SEAT. ENJOY YOUR CAVALIER AND DRIVE SAFELY. O.K. ?
