Can I cash my paycheck at wells fargo even if I don't have an account there?

I'm from California, and I have a Chase account, but I'm working in New Mexico and there are apparently no Chase banks anywhere in the state. The closest bank is a Wells Fargo--would they cash a paycheck for me? If so, would I have to show extra ID and pay a fee or anything like that? Sorry if this is a stupid question--this is basically my first job, so I 've never cashed a paycheck before, let alone one at a bank I don't have an account with.

It's a temporary job, guys--I'm going back to California at the end of May. So no, I"m not opening a new account, and actually, my employer doesn't offer direct deposit. Thanks for the suggestions, though.

Yeah, chase has the option of taking pictures, but I don't have a smartphone; I have a shitty tracfone that takes rather blurry pictures. And actually, I don't have cell phone reception where I am, so really, I can't do that.

Really doubt it. Most banks aren't cashing checks for non-account holders unless the check was drawn on their bank and their customer's account.

Wells Fargo Paycheck

You should really consider having a local bank.

However, doesnt Chase offer the option to take photos of the check and deposit that way? I just remember the commercial of the newlyweds taking pictures of the checks after the wedding. I don't have an account at chase, but that might be one option.

Something to consider:
Wells fargo has free checking with direct deposit.
Does your new emplloyer offer this? Most do.
You might pay that $7 monthly fee just for the first month (they may even waive it).

Yes, wells fargo will cash a check that is local from a larger employer in the area.
You moved....
You are in a new area....
You might as well find a bank.

Wells Fargo will cash it, but you need to bring a valid State ID. They will also take a percentage (Probably 5-7 dollars) for cashing the check.
