As soon as the dollar is no longer the world currency the crap will hit the fan...China,Russia ,South Africa and other countries are all making deals on what currency will replace the dollar....it's already starting to happen around the world.There are a lot of places an american credit card and american dollars are no longer excepted!

here we actually pay our taxes ( mostly)
we have credit as long as creditors believe we will repay. we always have and there is no reason what ever that we will not continue to do so.
in the great Depression it was necessary to call a "bank Holiday" to prevent panic and a total collapse
but over 9,000 banks did collapse and the government should have acted much sooner
it is not our debt. the greatest problem is unregulated financial things called derivatives that are bets on bets on bets that total Trillions more than our National product and debt combined.
