Why does Google think Cesar Chavez birthday is more important than Easter?

Could Google be any more insulting or inconsiderate? They do Christmas and birthdays of artists nobody has ever heard of.

And their doodles are regional, so it's not like there is any barrier preventing them from doing an easter message. It would have been best if they had not done one at all, rather than this obvious slap in the face of christians.

"People have been asking for a Cesar Chavez doodle for a few years now" - That's your argument? What people? 2.8 Billion Christians will be celebrating Easter, and many non Christians as well. These people have been missing the Easter doodle since the year 2000. Again, if they wanted to stay neutral, they should have done nothing. If there is such a need to do some leftist union organizer than do it a different day, like a famous time in his career.

"Easter is Tomorrow" - Some people live in Eastern time zone, and this is when Google updates their page to the next day. Thought people would be intelligent enough to figure this out. Apparently I have given some people too much credit.

I couldn't agree with you more...my thoughts exactly !!! Tired of hearing how we can't show a Christmas Tree at Christmas time because it's not politically correct or forced to say "Happy Holidays" instead of "Merry Christmas". Jesus died on a cross for the world's sins on Good Friday and rose from the dead on Easter...I really think Mr. Chavez should take a back seat to that. Anyone ever stop to think how screwed up this world has become? Just maybe, if we did things like say...oh I don't know...left the word, "GOD" in schools etc., perhaps kids wouldn't be so messed up today? I'm no Bible preacher by far, but a little respect towards a Christian holiday would have been nice considering ever other religion is tolerated within the U.S.A. including a messed up cult called Scientology. To all other Christians out there...HAPPY EASTER and God Bless!!!

How is it a slap in the face? I am Christian and I am not insulted. After all it IS Cesar Chavez day. Google hasn't done doodles celebrating exclusively religious holidays for a while.

My birthday is Feb 10 does that mean no one else can celebrate their birthday or anniversary or whatever on Feb 10?

Thought the same thing. Google has an agenda and you clearly see what it is. Google see's themselves more as a business now a days so religion in the business world is more profitable if it's left out, sad in some cases due to traditions but true. Kind of why you hear "Happy Holidays!" around 'the reason of the season'. . . Christmas!

Google has lost millions of accounts today. Hope that decision was worth it for them. I am insulted that they totally and completely ignored the most Holy of Days for Christians. They could have honored Saint Francis, Mother Teresa or even a tree, doves, etc or any symbol of Christianity! I realize everyone is not a Christian but there could have been some respectful symbol of this day.

Because not everything has to be about Jesus. Most of us on the planet don't even share your religion. People have been asking for a Cesar Chavez doodle for a few years now. I think you can handle Christianity losing the spotlight for one day out of one year. Anyway, it's not like Google would put up a big picture of Jesus on that day - they'd just use eggs and cute fuzzy bunnies. So there.
