Are we having fun yet? Here's a weekender JUST FOR FUN question:?

In fishing, what is an inconnu? What is its REAL name, and what is its nickname. (three answers) I WILL give the ten points to the first person who gets it right, or to the person who comes the closest. Good luck!

So far, so good. But the nickname we're looking for applies most to its out of water aerobatics attributed to a fish found more often in Florida and similar Atlantic waters. By the way, the fish we are talking about can reach weights in excess of 50 pounds. It gets its common name, sheefish, from Eskimo origins because it was called "chi" by them which is pronounced as if the "i" were an "e". One of Alaska's more uncommon freshwater (river) game fish. It is attracted to bright and shiny spoons and may be caught accidentally by those in search of northern pike.

Freshwater whitefish. It goes by "sheefish", "inconnu", or "connie". It goes by the name "nelma", too.

Sheefish and it is called tarpon of the north, because it kind of resembles a tarpon and I guess it fights pretty strong too.

Determining what a "real name" is, is a matter of philosophy. You have stumbled on to something much deeper than you intended to ask.

Whatever something is called, that is its real name. Things can really be called by more than one word.

Is my car a "4 wheeled vehicle" or is it a "car"? False dichotomy. An artificial one.

Especially when you consider there is more than one language on the planet.

Oh, and please don't get me wrong. Deep thoughts are fun, and it is the weekend.

A fresh water white fish? I think I have heard them called that.
